Francl Selected to Participate in NSF Sponsored Workshop
RU biology professor Karen Francl was recently selected to participate in a natural history museum workshop entitled "Workshop I: Opportunities and Challenges of Small Collections" at Michigan State University in April. The workshop will address issues relating to small collections in natural history museums. The National Science Foundation funded Research Coordination Network will cover the majority of Francl's cost to attend. She and her students have spent the past year cataloging and digitally photographing the 2,100 vertebrate specimens in the biology department's natural history collection.
