Sustainability

I Recycle. Do You? America Recycles Day is Nov. 15
"I Recycle" is the theme of Monday's America Recycles Day. In commemoration, this week's edition of "You Have the ABILITY!" offers tips on how to boost your recycling activities.

  • Learn what materials you can recycle on campus at RU Recycling.

When shopping, purchase products that are packaged in materials you can recycle locally. Use these handy guidelines to sort your recyclables:

  • Mixed Paper - office paper, envelopes, newspapers, magazines, cereal/shoe boxes, soft back books.
  • Containers - glass, aluminum, bi-metal, plastics (#1 & #2 only).
  • Cardboard - corrugated cardboard (two outer layers with wavy inner layer). This does not include pizza boxes.

America Recycles Day is sponsored by Keep America Beautiful, the nation's largest volunteer-based community action and education organization, which urges all those interested in sustainability to visit its website to take the online recycling pledge and use its downloadable resources and social media tools.
